Camden Commercial Property for Rent or to Let
Camden is famous for its street markets and being a centre for live music in its many pubs and music venues. The area still shows signs of its 19th century industrial history, including a labyrinth of tunnels beneath the area built by the Victorians as stables for the pit ponies and horses used to shunt railway wagons.
The area is popular with a wide variety of people and businesses, with prominent media companies such as MTV Europe located in Hawley Crescent. At weekends, it’s estimated that half a million people frequent the street markets, most of these located around the canal area. The area has a strong identity and the community of residents have rallied in opposition to many redevelopment plans at several points over the last decade, of both the markets and the tube station, however, further redevelopment of the Stables Market (previously a Victorian Horse Market) was passed by the local council in 2006.
